AIRCRAFT - FUEL TANK (ATA 28) - INSPECTION

Applicability:

- AIRBUS A300 and A300-600 aircraft all certified models and all serial numbers except aircraft on which AIRBUS INDUSTRIE modification 11848 has been embodied in production or AIRBUS INDUSTRIE Service Bulletin (SB) A300-28-0073 or A300-28-6058 in service.

- AIRBUS A310 aircraft all certified models and all serial numbers except aircraft on which AIRBUS INDUSTRIE modification 11847 has been embodied in production or SB A310-28-2130 in service.

Effective date: May 16, 2002

Compliance: Required as indicated in DGAC AD 1998-174-248(B) R1.

Remarks: The compliance of this AD must be recorded in Aircraft Logbook, where applicable the requirements of this AD must be integrated into Aircraft Technical Documentation. A300, A310 and A300-600 aircraft

Fuel Tanks - Bonding Leads (ATA 28)

APPLICABILITY:

- AIRBUS A300 and A300-600 aircraft all certified models and all serial numbers except aircraft on which AIRBUS INDUSTRIE modification 11848 has been embodied in production or AIRBUS INDUSTRIE Service Bulletin (SB) A300-28-0073 or A300-28-6058 in service.

- AIRBUS A310 aircraft all certified models and all serial numbers except aircraft on which AIRBUS INDUSTRIE modification 11847 has been embodied in production or SB A310-28-2130 in service.

REASONS:

During a scheduled maintenance check, an inspection of the inner fuel tanks revealed the damage of the bonding leads (corrosion, rupture or degraded electrical contact at the endings) which could be the origin of electrical arcing.

The purposes of Revision 1 of this Airworthiness Directive (AD) is:

- to cancel the paragraph ACTIONS 1 of the original issue of this AD (preliminary inspection prior to the embodiment of the modification),

- to reduce the APPLICABILITY of this AD.
