AIRBUS INDUSTRIE
A300, A310 and
A300-600 aircraft
Landing gear
normal extension/retraction mode -
Inspection of
landing gear selector valves (ATA 32)
APPLICABILITY:
AIRBUS INDUSTRIE
A300, A310 and A300-600 aircraft all certified models, all serial numbers.
REASONS:
The selector
valves P/N A25199-0-2 (installed on A300 aircraft only) and A25199-0-3 which
ensure the normal extension and retraction modes of the landing gear were
certified for a predetermined operational life of 32,000 flight cycles.
This Airworthiness
Directive (AD) fixes an extension to the operational life for selector valves
P/N A25199-0-3 only provided that they meet a repetitive operational test
required by this Airworthiness Directive. Selector valves P/N A25199-0-2 must
be removed prior to the accumulation of 32,000 flight cycles without the
possibility of extending this limit.
ACTIONS:
The following
measures are rendered mandatory from the effective date of this Airworthiness
Directive.
A300 aircraft (all
certified models and all serial numbers)
From the effective
date of this Airworthiness Directive and in accordance with the instructions of
AIRBUS INDUSTRIE Service Bulletin (SB) A300-32-0438 R1:
- replace the
selector valves P/N A25199-0-2 prior to accumulation of 32,000 flight cycles
since new,
- selector valves
P/N A25199-0-3 must be submitted to the operational test defined in SB
A300-32-0438 R1 prior to the accumulation of 32,000 flight cycles since new or
within the 600 flight hours following the effective dale of this Airworthiness
Directive, whichever occurs later,
- use of selector
valves P/N A25199-0-3 after 32,000 flight cycles is possible if the results of
the operational test above are satisfactory provided that, according to the
aircraft configuration (pre- or post-modification No. 3083 or SB A300-32-0269),
the following are satisfactorily performed:
- maintenance task 323112-0503-2 of A300
MPD at intervals not exceeding 3,000 flight hours for pre-modification No. 3083
or SB A300-32-0269 aircraft, or
- operational test defined in SB
A300-32-0438 R1 at intervals not exceeding 18 months or 2,800 flight cycles
whichever occurs first for post-modification No. 3083 or SB A300-32-0269
aircraft.
A310 and A300-600
aircraft (all certified models and all serial numbers)
From the effective
date of this AD and in accordance with the instructions of SB A310-32-2118 R1
or A300-32-6082 R1:
- selector valves
P/N A25199-0-3 must be submitted to the operational test defined in SB
A310-32-2118 R1 or A300-32-6082 R1 prior to the accumulation of 32,000 flight
cycles since new or within the 600 flight hours following the effective date of
this AD, whichever occurs later,
- use of selector
valves P/N A25199-0-3 after 32,000 flight cycles is possible if the results of
the operational test above are satisfactory provided that this same test is
satisfactorily performed at intervals not exceeding 18 months or 2,800 flight
cycles whichever occurs first.
