AIRBUS INDUSTRIE
A310 aircraft
Slat and flap
power control units - Life limit of the Pressure-Off Brakes (POBs) (ATA 27)
APPLICABILITY:
AIRBUS INDUSTRIE
A310 aircraft, all certified models and all serial numbers.
REASONS:
In the context of
the program aiming at controlling life limited equipment, AIRBUS INDUSTRIE
found that some Pressure-Off Brakes (POBs) installed on the Power Control Units
(PCUs) of the slats and flaps have been operated beyond the allowable life
limit of 12,000 flights.
It is thus
necessary to remove all POBs which might have exceeded this limit.
ACTIONS:
Within 16 months
following the effective date of this Airworthiness Directive, unless already
accomplished, check the serial number of the POBs installed on the Power
Control Units (PCUs) of the slats and flaps (positions 1 and 2), remove and
replace any POB operated beyond the allowable life limit, in accordance with
the instructions of AIRBUS INDUSTRIE Service Bulletin A310-27-2096.

SB is acceptable).
