AIRCRAFT - WING - PYLON THRUST AND SIDELOAD FITTING (SPIGOT) (ATA 57) - INSPECTION
Applicability: AIRBUS INDUSTRIE aircraft:
- A300 all certified models and all serial numbers,
- A310 all certified models and all serial numbers except for MSN 698 and subsequent MSN's,
-A300-600 all certified models and all serial numbers except for MSN 761, 767, 771 and subsequent MSN's.
Effective date: May 18, 2000
Compliance: Required as indicated in DGAC AD 1997-358-232(B) R1.
Remarks: The compliance of this AD must be recorded in Aircraft Logbook, where applicable the requirements of this AD must be integrated into Aircraft Technical Documentation. A300/A310/A300-600 aircraft
Wing - Pylon thrust and sideload fitting (Spigot) (ATA 57)
APPLICABILITY:
AIRBUS INDUSTRIE aircraft:
- A300 all certified models and all serial numbers,
- A310 all certified models and all serial numbers except for MSN 698 and subsequent MSN's,
-A300-600 all certified models and all serial numbers except for MSN 761, 767, 771 and subsequent MSN's.
REASON:
A crack was found on an in-service aircraft at the wing/pylon thrust and sideload fitting (spigot).
The propagation of such cracks could affect the structural integrity of the airframe.
The purpose of Revision O1 of this Airworthiness Directive (AD) is to take into account updating of the referenced documents.
ACTIONS:
-Prior to accumulation of 2,800 flight cycles or within 18 months following the effective date of this AD at original issue whichever occurs later, perform a detailed visual inspection in accordance with the instructions of AIRBUS INDUSTRIE Service Bulletins (SB) A300-57-232 or A310-57-2075 or A300-57-6079.
- Repeat the same detailed visual inspection every 2,800 flight cycles.
- Any cracked fitting must be replaced before the next flight in accordance with the instructions of SB A300-57-232 or A310-57-2075 or A300-57-6079.
NOTE: The 2,800 FC threshold and interval retained for this inspection program were determined for a specific average flight time (AFT). When the aircraft are operating with greater average flight times, the threshold and interval values must be adjusted in accordance with the instructions of:
- A300 SSID § 4-4,
- A310 or A300-600 MRB Report Section D § 8,
using a Fatigue Rating (FR) of 0.13.
