ENGINE - STATOR ASSEMBLY - INSPECTION/REPLACEMENT
Applicability:
Affected Engine: a) Rotax 912 A-Series, S/N 3,792.541 up to S/N 4,410.366Effective date: Upon receipt.
Compliance : Required as indicated in AC AD 98.
Remarks:. The compliance of this AD must be recorded in Engine Logbook, where applicable the requirements of this AD must be integrated into Aircraft Technical Documentation. 1. Affected Engine: a) Rotax 912 A-Series, S/N 3,792.541 up to S/N 4,410.366
b) Rotax 912 F-Series, S/N 4,412.502 up to 4,412.791
c) Rotax 914 F-Series, S/N 4,420.002 up to 4,420.157
2. Subject: Inspection of stator assembly
3. Reason: Possible damage on insulation material of the stator cables which may cause a short-circuit and result in engine stoppage.
4. Action: All affected Rotax 912 A-Series, Rotax 912 F-Series and Rotax 914 F-Series must comply with the actions required by Bombardier Rotax Service Bulletin No. SB-912-026R3 and No. SB-914-014R3 respectively issued December 1999, which becomes herewith part of this AD.
5. Compliance. a) before next flight: check stator in accordance with corresponding Service Bulletin
b) at the next 100-hours inspection, but not later than 01 April 2000: exchange stator in accordance with corresponding Service Bulletin.
6. Accomplishment: The required action has to be accomplished by the manufacturer, or through an approved service centre or by a licensed/qualified person. An entry into the aircraft/engine log has to be done.
