AIRCRAFT - RAM AIR TURBINE (RAT) - MODIFICATION
Applicability:
AIRBUS INDUSTRIE A300, A310 and A300-600 aircraft, all certified models and all serial numbers except for aircraft on which :
AIRBUS INDUSTRIE modification No 11527 has been embodied in production or,
AIRBUS INDUSTRIE Service Bulletin A300-29-0109 or A310-29-2077 or A300-29-6038 have been embodied.
Effective date: March 25, 1999
Compliance: Required as indicated in DGAC AD 1999-006-263(B).

AIRBUS INDUSTRIE
A300/A300-600/A310 Aircraft
Modification to the ram air turbine (RAT) uplock unit (ATA 29)
APPLICABILITY:
AIRBUS INDUSTRIE A300, A310 and A300-600 aircraft, all certified models and all serial numbers except for aircraft on which :
AIRBUS INDUSTRIE modification No 11527 has been embodied in production or,
AIRBUS INDUSTRIE Service Bulletin A300-29-0109 or A310-29-2077 or A300-29-6038 have been embodied.
REASON :
Undetected corrosion of the RAT uplock pin/shaft and the needle bearing supporting the feedthrough from the RAT uplock unit to the lever which is actuated by the control cable, may prevent the RAT from extending.
MANDATORY ACTIONS AND COMPLIANCE TIME :
Before December 31, 2002, modify the ram air turbine uplock units in accordance with the instructions of AIRBUS INDUSTRIE Service Bulletins A300-29-0109 or A310-29-2077 or A300-29-6038.
