APPLICABILITY:
This Airworthiness Directive applies to AIRBUS INDUSTRIE A300, A310 and A300-600 aircraft, all certified models and all serial numbers.
REASON:
In order to detect and prevent crack initiation and propagation, associated with fatigue phenomena on the forward passenger door stop fittings, which could lead to the rupture of one of the fittings and thus to reduction of the fatigue strength of the other fittings, due to load transfers, the following measures are rendered mandatory from the effective date of this Airworthiness Directive on original issue.
This Revision 1 takes into account the latest revisions of the referenced Services Bulletins without adding any new requirement
COMPLIANCE:
1) Perform a visual inspection of all forward passenger door fittings (RH and LH) and repair if required, in accordance with the threshold and the instructions of AIRBUS INDUSTRIE Service Bulletins A300-53-0309, A310-53-2087 or A300-53-6060.
Note: On the effective date of this Airworthiness Directive original issue, the aircraft which would be close to or would have exceeded the value of the thresholds defined by the referenced Service Bulletins must be subject to an inspection within the following 200 flight cycles.
2) Repeat the same visual inspection, in accordance with the instructions and the intervals defined by AIRBUS INDUSTRIE Service Bulletins A300-53-0309, A310-53-2087 or A300-53-6060, depending on the configuration of the inspected aircraft.
