ENGINE - TURBINE BLADE - REPLACEMENT
Applicability: Walter M601D, M601E, M601E-21 series engines, serial numbers are mentioned at the enclosures of the Mandatory bulletins no.:M601D/27a, M601E/20a, M601E-21/1a.
Reason:
Gas generator turbine blade was broken off in operation due to reduced fatigue strength caused by increased content of zirconium in used ŽS6KVI alloy.Effective date:
July 15, 1999Compliance :
(a) Gas generator turbine blades must be replaced by exhausting determined life of 1000 cycles or 1000 hrs at latest.
(b) Blade replacement will be carried by the maintenance engineers of the WALTER a.s. Product Support Dept. after agreement or on request of the operator at operators facility (in case of necessity of replacement 5 turbine blades or less on 1 engine) or at manufacturer (in case of necessity of replacement more than 5 turbine blades on 1 engine) before gas generator turbine blade life termination above mentioned and as determined by Mandatory bulletins no.: M601D/27a, M601E/20a, M601E-21/1a.
