HOT AIR BALLOON - ENVELOPE THERMOMETER - REPLACEMENT
Applicability: Envelope dial thermometer DTR BB (all serial numbers) made by Kubicek s. r. o..
Reason : Envelope dial thermometer scale visibility, which doesn´t make precise reading of temperature possible.
Effective date: Upon receipt.
Compliance : After AD receipt, not later than October 1st, 1998.
Accomplishment Procedure:
Envelope dial thermometer must be replaced by envelope thermometer M 1 approved for hot air balloons operation by Civil Aviation Authority of the Czech Republic (CAA CZ). An alternative method of compliance that provides an acceptable level of safety may be used if approved by CAA CZ, Airworthiness division. Operators shall submit their requests to the CAA CZ, Airworthiness division.
