A310 and A300-600 Aircraft
Hydraulic motors of the trimmable
horizontal stabilizer (THS) actuator
This Airworthiness Directive applies to AIRBUS INDUSTRIE A310 and A300-600 aircraft, all certified models and all serial numbers on which AIRBUS INDUSTRIE modification No. 11607 has not been embodied (AIRBUS INDUSTRIE Service Bulletin A310-27-2081 or A300-27-6035 on in-service aircraft).
In order to prevent, in case of desynchronization of the THS actuator hydraulic motors, the internal rupture of one of the hydraulic motors, thus reversing its rotation, which in turn, combined with the loss of the hydraulic system associated with the other motor, would lead to a runaway of the THS to its up or down end travel position, the following measures are rendered mandatory from the effective date of this Airworthiness Directive:
